There are four basic language skills that should be acquired in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. These; listening, speaking, reading and writing skills. The basis of all these skills is the skill of listening. For this reason, it is very important to develop the listening skill, which is the basis for the student to gain the best language skills. In order for students to communicate in a healthy way, they must first acquire listening skills both in their mother tongue and in foreign language learning. The ability to listen in the mother tongue develops in natural conditions until school age. In order for the student to gain listening skills in the foreign language learning process, it is necessary to undergo a planned and correct education. In this study, it is focused on what kind of a way to follow in order to gain listening skills in the process of teaching Turkish to foreigners, which subjects should be paid attention to, what listening education will bring to the student and the factors affecting it.
