Abstract

Tohir Malik’s Farewell to Childhood stands out in Uzbek literature as a work that reflects the psychological, emotional, and social aspects of childhood through a rich and expressive vocabulary. This paper analyzes the lexical choices that convey the emotional intensity and cultural depth of childhood memories. Malik’s language is enriched with idioms, proverbs, regional words, and emotionally nuanced expressions that evoke nostalgia and vividly portray the spirit of the era. His use of vocabulary serves not only as a narrative tool but also as an aesthetic device that mirrors the characters’ inner worlds and the purity of childhood. The study highlights how Malik’s lexical richness contributes to the expressive capacity of the Uzbek language and offers a new perspective on the artistic and linguistic analysis of childhood in Uzbek literature.
