Abstract

The study, which was initiated to contribute to Turkish teaching, was carried out with foreign students studying at Karaman High School. It is aimed for students learning Turkish as a foreign language to use Turkish correctly and effectively. In the study, simple random sampling method was used to select foreign students. The contribution of the story, simplified at the B2 level and told with storigamy, to Turkish teaching was examined. A game of creating words from letters was played, the story was animated by making a honey bee with storigami, and the model house and the place in the story were depicted. Classic origami was used in making honey bees. As a result of the survey and document analysis, it was decided to create a text at B2 level. The study was conducted with a total of 12 foreign Karaman High School students, 4 from Afghanistan, 1 from Egypt, 1 from Palestine, 1 from Yemen, 2 from Syria, 1 from Iraq, 1 from Uzbekistan and 1 from Sudan. Two Afghan students are brothers. 7 of these students are in the 9th grade, 3 are in the 10th grade, and 2 are in the 11th grade. Necessary permissions were obtained before the work. The created text and questions aimed at reading and understanding the text were administered to the students as the first exam. After the first exam, activities were held for five weeks. The second exam was administered. Comparing the two exam results shows that storigami and the applied activities can contribute to Turkish teaching.
