Abstract

The Book of Dede Korkut is one of the important works of Turkish cultural heritage. The work, which conveys the life and worldview of the Oghuzs, has been the source of many scientific research in different fields. The belief elements in the work have also been one of the research subjects and different opinions have emerged on this subject. There are similarities in various aspects between "The tribe that subjugated Uruz Bey, Son of Kazan Bey" in the Book of Dede Korkut and the Uhud Battle, one of the important events in Islamic history. In this study, it has been tried to show a different approach to the Islamic elements in the Book of Dede Korkut by emphasizing the similarities in question. During the investigations, the comparison method was used, considering that the Battle of Uhud was an event and " The tribe that subjugated Uruz Bey, Son of Kazan Bey " was fiction.
