Ensuring the unity and integrity of a country, ensuring its national unity is possible with individuals who speak the same language (language), have the same language (heart) and share the same mentality. It is not enough to speak with the same words in order to agree on common points; In addition, hearts should beat with the same feeling and ideal. In times of major events that could be a turning point in the life of the state and nation, this issue is much more important and comes to the fore. The 13th century is a period in which not only the Turkish and Islamic world, but the whole world was shaken, and wars and destructions were experienced. At such times, only the scholars, mystics, poets, writers and artists of the period were those who gave the people the strength and morale to endure spiritually. This century, as a result of the collapse of the Seljuk State in Anatolia and the disintegration of the Turkish unity, many Turkish principalities emerged and they established independent statelets in their own regions. Science and politics, which were dominated by Arabic and Persian during the Seljuk period, became an area dominated by Turkish during the Principalities. While blood and tears were flowing on the one hand, national feelings were revived, national feelings aroused, and the mother tongue was rediscovered – almost – on the other. Eastern peoples are more emotional than Western peoples and their spirituality is also strong. Consequently, Eastern nations always rely on their religious, national and spiritual values and take shelter in the social and political turmoil they are in. In this century, one of the prominent opinion leaders with the characteristics we have mentioned is the statesman, scholar, mystic and poet Âşık Pasha. Among the works of Âşık Pasha, the one that serves the meaning we mentioned the most is Garipname. He understood the importance of mother tongue and worked in this direction in order to keep the people together and to revive hopes at a time when unity, state influence, power and reputation were weakened and sometimes lost in Anatolia.
